Introduction to Meditation in Rapid City, South Dakota
On Saturday, November 3rd, Gen Losel gave an introduction to meditation in Rapid City and there was a great amount of interest. About 55 people attended the talk. Many of them seemed very enthusiastic about meditation and Buddhism. Several mentioned that they would like regular classes and some said they plan to make the trip to Avalokiteshvara Center for the empowerment of Green Tara.
The talk came about through the efforts of Keith Whites, a professor at the South Dakota School of Mines. Keith came to our annual mountain retreat at Pingree Park last May. After the retreat, he expressed interest for Gen Losel to come to Rapid City to give teachings. So for the last few months he's been making the arrangements for the talk.
One person from the talk wrote 'please come back' on the sign up sheet for updates. Gen Losel will definately be making more trips to Rapid City. Now we just need to find a suitable venue for classes.
